Tumblr on We Heart It. http://weheartit.com/entry/53575103/via/Love_me_for_me_xo
I haven’t wrote in a while so I thought I would write something that I think about a lot and that makes me have faith.
My grandparents, have been together more than 50 years. They used to take the piss out of each other and sometimes they bicker but they’re still in love. Before they met, my granddad was a young man, reveling in his youth even though he was the son of an army man so his morals are quite strict. He used to go to the pub every weekend and this one particular weekend, a beautiful young woman walked into the pub. My granddad was sat having a beer, a smoke and a laugh with his friends, until this beautiful young woman caught his eye. He turned completely serious and said to his friend “You see that beautiful young red head over there? Shes the one for me, she will be my wife. I just know it.” That “Beautiful young red head” was my nannan. Obviously my granddad turned on the charm and they started seeing each other. When my nannan was 19 and my granddad was 20 they got married and had three beautiful children, who all grew up to have children, and they were the most amazing, funny, joyful and caring grandparents anyone could wish for. Even after being put through all the stresses of everyday life, they still stayed strong. However, as my granddad got older, he became weaker, eventually developing dementia (which has him needing constant care now) but did my nannan care? No sir! She took care of him and refused any help even though the dementia was making him angry and confused she put it all aside and took care of him because she loves him.
Never have I known of a stronger more beautiful love than that of my nannan and granddad. It truly gives me hope. I feel so proud and so lucky to say they are my grandparents. I love them both so dearly <3
